LAMENESS ASSESSMENT

Lameness issues pose a dual challenge, leading to substantial production losses in livestock herds while inflicting considerable pain and discomfort upon the animals.

Bathurst Vet Services offers the analysis and treatment of lameness in cattle and small ruminants. Common issues addressed include:

​

• Hoof abscesses

• Interdigital dermatitis (scald)

• Joint ill in Calves and Lambs

• Ruptured stifles and dislocated hips resulting from bulling injuries

• Trauma and arthritis

Our lameness examinations are conducted on-farm, and we further provide hoof trimming services for cattle, either in the crush or under general anesthesia.
